Operation Preparation 2016

Posted On: Monday, April 11, 2016

On March 30th and 31st, volunteers throughout the Clinton County School District, as well as community agencies and organizations came together to work with students during Operation Preparation.  For two days, these volunteer mentors met one-on-one with all 8th and 10th grade students.  As they reviewed Individual Learning Plans (ILP), the adults and students discussed career aspirations, as well as required education, training, and workforce skills needed for careers.  Students had the opportunity to look over their MAP test results to see if they were on target to meet their goals.  Class schedules and grades were examined to determine whether the students were taking the courses recommended to prepare them for a life beyond high school.  The mentors also talked with the students about their attendance records, stressing the importance of making the most of their school experience to ensure a successful future.
