Local Students Are Songwriters

Posted On: Tuesday, April 26, 2016

On Friday, April 22nd, CCMS and CCHS students in the Gifted & Talented Program participated in the Words and Music Program at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, Tennessee.  In the weeks prior to the visit, the students had been working to write or co-author with fellow classmates original song lyrics.  The lyrics were then sent ahead to the Country Music Hall of Fame, where local professional songwriters and musicians selected a few and put the words to music.  After a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, students had the opportunity to listen to the new songs they had created during a session with their collaborating professional partners.

Pictured below are the students whose songs were selected to be recorded during the visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum with the professionals who recorded the songs:  Vocalist Rachel Rodriguez, Lex Marcum, Claire Guffey, Emma Tompkins, Musician Kenne Cramer, Jaden Mullins, Abbi Young, and Autumn McCutchen.
