EGG-cellent Science Experiment!

The students in Mrs. Ashley Neathery's Integrated Science class at CCHS enjoyed a fun science experiment during the week before Easter using Easter eggs! Students investigated the selective permeability of eggs. They first dissolved the egg's shell with vinegar, then placed the egg in corn syrup and observed that the egg shrunk significantly. Their egg was hypertonic in a hypotonic solution. Last they put their egg in water and food coloring and observed that the egg swelled to near bursting. Their egg was hypotonic in a hypertonic solution.
