AES Related Arts April Showcase

The students at Albany Elementary School who had Drama, Music, Art, and Physical Education for related arts classes during the fifth six weeks of school demonstrated their skills in the arts by performing plays, singing, dancing, and exhibiting art projects for parents, peers, and staff on April 16th.  Students performed before large audiences in the gymnasium.  Classes from each grade level rehearse and present a drama performance during each grading period.  The drama performance is complimented with musical selections, as well as dance routines and artwork showcase.  The student performances were directed by AES Library Media Specialist Connie Armstrong and Music teacher Teresa Williams.  The Virginia Reel dance was coordinated by AES Physical Education teacher Jennifer Preston.  Student artwork was displayed by AES art teacher Scott Gregory.

The 1st grade classes of Ms. Sherry Johnson and Ms. Wendy McWhorter presented a drama and music performance entitled "The Chocolate Bunny / Easter ABC's". 

The 2nd grade classes of Ms. Patty Crouch and Ms. Sandy Shelton presented a drama and music performance entitled "A Day in the Country / Old Macdonald's Farm". 

The 3rd grade classes of Ms. Reda Thurman and Ms. Kim Dicken presented a drama and music performance entitled "Just For Fun".

The 4th grade classes of Ms. Megan Rains and Ms. Angie Flowers presented a drama and music performance entitled "Rock and Roll Forever".  The 4th grade class of Ms. Crystal Hoban danced the Virginia Reel.

Artwork was displayed by the classes of Ms. Sandy Marcum, Ms. Carolyn Guffey, Mr. Nathan Pennycuff, & Ms. Yvonne Morgan.
