AES May Related Arts Showcase

The students at Albany Elementary School who had Drama, Music, Art, and Physical Education for related arts classes during the last six weeks of school demonstrated their skills in the arts by performing plays, singing, dancing, and exhibiting art projects for parents, peers, and staff on Friday, May 22nd.  Students performed before large audiences in the gymnasium.  Classes from each grade level rehearse and present a drama performance during each grading period.  The drama performance is complimented with musical selections, as well as dance routines and artwork showcase.  The student performances were directed by AES Library Media Specialist Connie Armstrong and Music teacher Teresa Williams.  The Virginia Reel dance was coordinated by AES Physical Education teacher Jennifer Preston.  Student artwork was displayed by AES art teacher Scott Gregory.

The 1st grade classes of Ms. Jamie Reagan and Ms. Londa Kerr presented a drama and music performance entitled "E-I-E-I-Oops!" 

The 2nd grade classes of Ms. Laura England and Ms. Christina Stearns presented a drama and music performance entitled "Squirm!"

The K-1 transition class of Ms. Tammie Conner and the 3rd grade class of Ms. Samantha Marcum presented a drama and music performance entitled "GOAL!"

The 4th grade classes of Ms. Shannon Shearer and Ms. Crystal Hoban presented a drama and music performance entitled "At the Bandstand!"  The 4th grade class of Ms. Yvonne Morgan danced the Virginia Reel. 

Artwork was displayed by the classes of Ms. Wendy McWhorter, Ms. Sandy Shelton, Ms. Reda Thurman, & Ms. Megan Rains.
