Battle of the Books

America's Battle of the Books is a reading incentive program for students in 3rd thru 12th grades. Students read books and compete in teams to demonstrate their abilities and to test their knowledge of the books they have read.  Students in grades 3 - 8 in the Gifted & Talented program competed on March 29th & 30th at CCMS in the first Battle of the Books in Clinton County.  The winning teams from each age category and high-scoring participants will be rewarded with a trip to Breakout in Lexington on April 6th.  Breakout is a real-life escape room adventure for small groups. 

The winning team from the 3rd grade competition was Cover to Cover.  Team members include Valarie Latham, Shelby Fitzgerald, Cambria Moses, and Cannon Young.

The winning team from the 4th - 6th grade competition was Fire Wolves.  Team members include Emma Tompkins, Loren Little, and Ryan Bair.

The winning team from the 7th & 8th grade competition was Team 3.  Team members include Nathan Brown, Conlan Beck, Sydnee Albertson, and Rachel Sawyers.
