Posted On: Wednesday, November 2, 2016

Students in Ms. Rachel McFall’s first grade class at AES enjoyed their math lesson with a hands on approach. Gutting the pumpkins was ooey, gooey fun as the students practiced a variety of math skills. Students measured the pumpkins using unifix cubes, counted the seeds grouping into 5’s and 10’s and practicing estimation, experimented and discussed sink/float properties, and reviewed their predictions upon returning to class. There were lots of giggles and fun learning for all.
