Seven New for the AES Crew!

Seven new teachers joined the staff at Albany Elementary School for the 2017-18 school year.  

Ms. Brittany Guffey - 3rd Grade

Ms. Brittany Guffey began her educational career with a degree from Lindsey Wilson College in 2011. She earned her master’s degree as a Reading and Writing Specialist in December 2014 from the University of the Cumberlands.  After teaching grades 2, 4, and 5 math classes at Metcalfe Elementary from 2011-2015, Ms. Brittany worked in Monroe County as an Adult Education teacher for a year.  She then taught kindergarten at Joe Harrison Carter from 2016-2017.  Ms. Brittany is super excited to be back home and teaching third grade in her hometown.  Her favorite quote is: ”She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”  (Proverbs 31:25)

Ms. Mindie Anderson - 3rd Grade

Ms. Mindie Anderson is so very excited to be a part of the Clinton County School District as a third grade teacher at AES! She loves her hometown and wants to play a part in helping our children learn and grow. As a teacher, she feels that it is important to give 110% so that her students can be successful and be lifelong learners, because there is ALWAYS more to learn! Ms. Mindie graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Her hobbies include gardening and baking.  She is also currently taking piano lessons. Ms. Mindie is excited to see what all is in store for us this year!!

Ms. Allison Jarvis - 4th Grade

Ms. Allison Jarvis graduated from Western Kentucky University with a major in Elementary Education.  She has joined the fourth grade team as a Language Arts teacher. She has a one year old son named Cain.  Ms. Allison enjoys reading, drawing, and hunting.

Ms. Amy Norris - 4th Grade

Ms. Amy Norris is 29 years old.  She is working on her master’s degree in Elementary Education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has worked in banking for the past 10 years.  She has always wanted to pursue a career in education and was recently given this opportunity. Ms. Amy enjoys scrapbooking and sewing in her free time, as well as spending time with her family.

Mr. Jared Hunter - 4th Grade

Mr.  Jared Hunter just graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a bachelor’s degree in Middle Mathematics Education. He is currently enrolled at the University of the Cumberlands to begin work on his master’s degree in Elementary Education. Mr. Jared is teaching 4th grade math and science at AES. He has a wife and three year old son who always keep him busy when he’s not at school. One of his favorite hobbies is playing tennis whenever he can. Mr. Jared is excited to be a part of the Albany Elementary family and can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Mr. Robert McDaniel - 4th Grade

Before pursuing a career in education, Mr. Robert McDaniel was a professional journalist for the London Sentinel-Echo and Somerset Commonwealth Journal newspapers.  In addition, he also served four years in the United States Marine Corps.  Mr. Robert attended Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) from 2009 to 2012 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism.  He is currently attending the University of the Cumberlands, where he hopes to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching.  Mr. Robert is excited to be working with his students and hopes that he can share his real-world experience in writing with them.

Mr. Adam Womack - Exceptional Education

Mr. Adam Womack graduated from Lindsey Wilson College in 2009 with a major in Applied Learning.  He is currently working on a Master of Arts in teaching at the University of the Cumberlands.  Mr. Adam is married and has one son, age 19 months. His wife teaches middle school English at Russell County Middle School.  He enjoys working out at the gym, nutrition, and racing. Mr. Adam is excited to be a part of Albany Elementary.
