Official School Safety Statement from the Superintendent

Posted On: Friday, February 23, 2018

To all Clinton County School Staff, Parents, and Community Members,

I want to reassure everyone that we are continuing our efforts to make our schools as safe as possible.  During the evening of February 22nd, the police notified me of a possible threat made by a student outside of school.  Immediate action was taken, a juvenile was questioned, and the threat was quickly resolved.  At no time were any of our students or schools in danger.  However, I felt it was important to let everyone know what had happened.  Although I cannot provide every detail of a police investigation, I will share all that I can.

Our school district has taken many steps to ensure the safety of students.  The Kentucky Center for School Safety has conducted safety audits in our district the past two years.  All school entrances are secured at all times.  School faculty and staff participate in safety training annually, with safety drills conducted in schools throughout the year.  The school district has a comprehensive safety plan detailing best practices for school personnel and students in case of any emergency.  Student safety has always been, and will continue to be, our top priority.

I hope we can continue to work together for the safety and well-being of all our children.

Thank you,

Charlotte Nasief
