The 6th annual Clinton County Schools Taste Testing was held at Clinton County High School on April 17, 2018, in conjunction with the CCHS Academic Showcase and the Gifted & Talented Art Show. Over 300 people came out to sample potential new menu items for next school year and to vote for their favorites. Thanks to Food Services Director Paulette Brinley and Food Services Secretary Alice Morrison, as well as the school cafeteria kitchen managers and cooks for the hard work they put into making this event possible. Extra thanks also to School Board Member Jeff Sams for his special interest and help in coordinating this event. Several community booths were present to provide information about health, nutrition, and education to attendees. The summer feeding Bus Stop Café was on site. Big thanks to the Clinton County Alumni Band for providing awesome music!
And...the results are in! Again this year, the food displays were organized by vendor. The big winners were Integrated Foods Goldfish French Toast Grahams and Key Impact Big Daddy’s Pre-Sliced Pizza, receiving the most favorable feedback. Not far behind were Rich’s French Toast Bites and Pancake Bites, as well as Core Group McCain’s Crispy Spiral Fries. At the Waypoint table, the Tyson Golden Crispy Chicken Filet came out on top. The favorite item offered by Parsley’s was the Proview Dill Chicken. The Salsa from Authentic Local was also popular. Michael’s J & J Luigi Watermelon Sorbet and Albie’s Pizza Calzone received the highest rating at their booth. Among the Recipe offerings, the Roasted Potatoes were a hit! Thanks to everyone who participated!
