Scholastic Books are Here!

This school year, many AES teachers asked the community to assist in helping to build libraries for student homes.  Donations of $9.00 were made to individual teachers, allowing one child to receive a book each month from the Scholastic Book company.  Ms. Samantha and Ms. Jona's families at AES were so happy with their September book, The Chocolate Touch! Not only did students read it in class, but they also enjoyed a fun-filled day of making chocolate slime as a culminating activity!  During snack students also sampled brownies, an assortment of candy, and pretzels with Nutella!  Students even composed their own stories about having a special touch, such as the main character in the September book.    Overall, this first story was a huge success!
