Health careers students at Clinton County Area Technology Center had a rare opportunity on December 10th to participate in a virtual visit with four members of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine Ambassadors program. Together with their instructor, Mrs. Billie Frye, the students had prepared questions for the first and second year medical school students prior to the Skype call. Led by Brett Austin, president of the Ambassadors program, the four medical school students answered the local high school students' questions about choosing a college, preparing for the MCAT, selecting a specialty area, salary ranges, dealing with stress, motivation, and many other topics. Our students posed some very interesting and thought-provoking questions for the college students. In turn, the Ambassadors gave wonderful insight for our students who are seriously considering a future in healthcare careers. This opportunity was facilitated by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Paula Little. Thanks to Sid Scott and Frank Butler for coordinating the technical aspects of the visit.
