Mary Jo Young Scholarship

The Mary Jo Young Scholarship is named for former KHEAA Board of Directors member Mary Jo Young in recognition of her outstanding history of public service in her local community and for the Commonwealth of Kentucky to improve educational opportunities for Kentuckians. It is for high school students in grades 9 through 12 enrolled in dual credit college classes at any college or university. Students can receive tuition and book reimbursement for up to two courses each semester. Awards are made with priority to low–income students.

The scholarship recently provided up to $405 per class toward tuition for up to two classes each semester and up to $125 per class for textbooks. Scholarships can only be used in the fall and spring semesters.

The application is available on The application period runs generally from March 1, through May 1.

To apply, sign into Zip Access at the top of the page, choose "Apply Online for the Scholarships" then select the Mary Jo Young Scholarship application link. Applications are usually accepted in the spring for the next school year.
