Real World Finance Lessons

Posted On: Monday, October 3, 2016

Students in Mrs. Holly Claborn’s Financial Literacy class at Clinton County Area Technology Center have had the opportunity to participate in some real world finance lessons this semester.  People's Bank & Trust of Clinton County and Monticello Banking Company sponsored Dave Ramsey's "Foundations in Personal Finance: High School Edition" for these high school students.  This program is full of money-management lessons that would greatly benefit any student before completing high school and heading out into the real world.  Students are watching the videos included with program and utilizing an electronic workbook to learn Dave Ramsey’s common sense approach to personal finance.  Over two million students have completed this course since 2008, and it used in one out of three schools across the country.  Thanks to People’s Bank & Trust of Clinton County and to Monticello Banking Company for affording our students this wonderful opportunity! Pictured below are CCHS freshman Paige Hicks, sophomore Connor Wilson, and junior Jessica Armstrong watching a Dave Ramsey video.
