Reminder from the Office of Superintendent Wayne Ackerman:
Senate Bill 181
Kentucky Senate Bill 181 (effective June 27, 2025) mandates that all electronic communication between school staff, volunteers, and students must occur through designated, traceable communication systems approved by the school district. This aims to enhance student safety and transparency by preventing unauthorized communication channels like personal cell phones or social media. The bill also requires parents to be informed about the designated communication systems and how to access them.
SB 181 requires school districts to choose and implement communication platforms that allow for tracking and oversight of all electronic communication between staff and students.
The approved communication platforms for Clinton County Schools include
District Email (@clinton.kyschools.us)
Infinite Campus
Apptegy
Clever-Integrated Apps
Go Guardian
Google Classroom
Microsoft Services & Extensions
School staff and volunteers are prohibited from using personal devices or platforms (like texting, non-district email, or social media) to communicate with students (unless written parental consent is on file). Parents may revoke written parental consent at any time.
Students will receive all official communications through approved platforms. Parents will continue receiving messages through our normal channels: district emails, Infinite Campus, call/text alerts, and social media.
